I have had relatinoships with men who were great in so many ways, but had a fatal flaw or two when it came to being with me. I tried to stay with him to see if the situation could be fixed, but stayed beyond a reasonable time. I am normally a positive person and feel that with effort, most things can be worked out. That is not always the case. I learned that you also have to consider whether the person you are with is as dedicated to making things right, as you are. I know this is a general answer, if you want to get more specific maybe later. It is not really important the exact things that went wrong, but how you handle it during and after.
