MON HISTOIRE

I am sober from alcohol and drugspot. Its been a blessing and a curse all wrapped into one. I didnt have an intervention nor did I need rehab, but realized it might have gone there if I didnt completely erase it from my life and ask for help. Drinking every night to burn my feelings away ... I allowed myself to be a victim of every situation. Finally I realized I didnt have any power anymore and I reached for help, the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I have been given the opportunity to take a look at myself and faults through AA and realize alcohol was never the problem but a temporary solution. Myself and my thinking were the problem. Now, I like who I am and Ive come to realize Im pretty awesome without either drugs or alcohol. Its a day by day thing. Today I wont drink and hopefully tomorrow I wont either but for now all I have is today. If this bothers you, then I am sorry it does. I am extremely grateful for what I have gone through and it has made me a betterstronger person today. I have been able to take a hard look at myself and really find out who I am and who I want to be. A lot of "normal" people never get the opportunity I have been given in my recovery process. AA has given me a second chance to be Mindy Moo. I am a little over 2 years clean and sober
